Short history of the founding of Kachin Center

The Kachin Center was founded after second time of Kachin Community Exchange meeting organized by the Kachin Women Association of Thailand (KWAT) in Chiangmai,Thailand, in March, 2010. It started at the first Kachin Community Exchange meeting in March, 2009 with the idea “We of the Kachin have to work together for our own National Interest”.

The very first vision of Kachin Center was that to be able to give assistance to the people in time of crisis inside Kachinland and to be a reliable and supportive communication channel for the Kachin people living abroad.
