With high respect, We of the Kachin Center of Chiangmai, Thailand send a greeting to All Kachins living all over the world.

We believe that you all have already heard - through local and international media -about the news related to the ongoing conflict affecting the Kachin people inside Burma. Because of raging the offensive war against Kachin people, Kachins living nearby the border with Shan and Kachin State had to leave their lands and houses in order to escape from the inhumane acts of Burmese soldiers.

Meanwhile, all the victims are being taken care and given shelters by our KIO/KIA (Kachin Independence Organization/Kachin Independence Army) with all possible means. It is important to give an efficient assistance to those ones who can directly handle the situation. We acknowledged that the fist aid has been provided by some relief community groups and individuals. As the number of people fleeing from the conflict areas is increasing, a further assistance is needed to give them relief.

In order to make a better assessment and to give a proper support with the most suitable channels for the relief of the Kachins, We of the Kachin Center of Chiangmai, Thailand have prepared to take certain responsibilities and to reach out the people in need.
