Letter from Myitkyina (MKA na shagun laika)

Leaflet is being distributed and circulated in Myitkyina, Kachin state which remarks that KIO/A is broken into two groups. In fact, such deceitful news distributors may be broken into two parties.

There are two parties USDP (Union Solidarity and Development Party ) and Burma Army doing such devil acts against KIO/A and Kachin People.

While USDP is trying to show people that they are acting to end civil conflicts between KIA and Burma Army then Burmese Army, on the other hand, is trying its best using  military-force to eliminate KIO/A while such rumors are spreading.

As a matter of fact, inside Ma-Pa-Kha (Northern Military Based), they, themselves are broken into two groups since they are spreading different news that those who want to wage war and those who concern about their casualties.

Right now, a lot of Burmese military cadets and officers are doing carriers on the Kan-Pai-Ti high way road. They are telling and convincing Chinese people that they will not be safe if they don’t go with them and they are taking a ride on Chinese trucks. One Chinese friend said, they are hiring one Burmese military officer with 30000 KS to take a ride with them on their truck for their safety.

As long as Myitsone Dam news is concerned,  the project is still active. What we heard was that since the land is breaking up in the area due to mining gold and digging tunnels last year, they are just fixing the area not working on project. The land is started to collapse every place where tunnels and mining was carried out last year.
